Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American artist and a sitarist, is well known for her music. She was the first woman within her age bracket to be a member of the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging young star of the Indian sitar. She is a student as well as daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982. She was a young girl who travelled from London in London and New Delhi. In the age of thirteen she staged her first performance at New Delhi. Later she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman however she's got an amazing career in music and performance. Since a while, she has been performing regularly with her father. In 1998, she released Anourag as her debut album as a solo artist. The following year, she released the Grammy nominated album Live on stage at Carnegie Hall. The stage is a very significant part of her work. She has performed in a variety of famous venues around the globe. Anoushka Shankar's professional life isn't limited to performing in music. She published Bapi The Heart of My Life, in 2002. The book is a biography that pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she appeared in Dance Like a Man as an actress and Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka's career is still developing and she is expected to achieve great success in the future. Anoushka was born in England and spent a lot of her childhood in between London as well as Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and enrolled in the high school. at the age of nine she began her studies in the piano with her father. Her debut performance on the sitar came during her birthday celebrations for her 75th birthday in Delhi just four years later. Anoushka performed with her father throughout his global tour, gained an impressive amount of experience. In her teenage years she performed at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. To honor her position as an outstanding musician in the field of Asian Arts, she was awarded the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
